About the Festival

This is a six month programme of high profile events, activity and debate that will engage and inspire people through the story of the Declaration. Shining the light on our historic town, bringing people together from near and far.

Many months of creativity, planning and hard work by Arbroath 2020 Committee, our partner organisations and local groups have resulted in an exciting and ambitious six-month programme of celebrations.

The structure of the festival has been devised by the 2020 Group with key projects taking place from April to September underpinned by a strong community programme.

The programme will develop and grow as we near the April launch, so check back to see all that is going on in 2020.

Arbroath 2020 is supported with funding from Creative Scotland’s Place Partnership Programme and Angus Council.

Arbroath 2020 are working alongside partners and collaborators including Historic Environment Scotland, Hospitalfield Trust, National Records Scotland, Angus Council, Angus Alive and many community groups and volunteers.

We welcome you to join in with the creating, making and enjoying of Arbroath 2020.

Arbroath 2020 formed as a charity to ensure the 700th anniversary of the Declaration of Arbroath is celebrated.

Arbroath 2020 is a registered charity (registration number SC047857)
